On May 12th, 2023 a rare tornado began in the early afternoon near the town of Spalding, NE in the eastern Sandhills. A cold core tornado outbreak occurred with multiple tornadoes across the sandhills, where the king of the event occurred. A large, powerful, wedge-shaped tornado moved harmlessly across the grass and sand. This tornado, famously, was intercepted by the Dominator team where they measured rapid pressure drop and intense winds.
