During a strong G3 solar storm on November 5th, 2023 a beautiful display of tall red and green pillars filled the night sky across northwestern, IA near the town of Le Mars. Pure red and green, tall aurora is often more rare than its lime green and purple pillars due to moon or faded sunlight.
